Otherwise we do not collect identifying information from visitors to the MassMEP Website, unless they voluntarily use our site to send us an e-mail message, participate in a survey, or fill out and send an on-line form.
We use Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movements on our Web site and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. These log files contain statistical data used to analyze traffic patters, specifically the user’s IP address, the date and time of the visit, the file requested by the user, the size of the file requested by the user, the status of the request (e.g. whether the request was successfully served by our web server software), and the referring URL which generated the request.
Use of Data
Identifying information will be used for the stated purpose of its submission. We may also use identifying information for editorial and feedback purposes, for marketing and promotional purposes, for a statistical analysis of users’ behavior, for product development, for content improvement, and/or to inform advertisers as to how many visitors have seen or clicked on their advertisements, and to customize content and layout of the MassMEP Website. Data on visitors’ home servers is aggregated for internal review and then discarded. Names, postal and e-mail addresses, and phone numbers collected may be added to our databases and used for future calls and mailings regarding site updates, new products and services, upcoming events, and status of orders placed online.
