SUMMARY:Additive Manufacturing in the New Normal with Design Point
DESCRIPTION:In 2020\, the global supply chain was disrupted by the devastating Covid-19 crisis. In this new reality companies that had future proofed their processes and removed risk from their supply chains thrived while others perished. In this segment\, additive engineer Andrew Garchik will present specific use cases showing how manufacturers are using additive manufacturing to make their supply chains leaner and meaner. Also\, Solidworks expert Dan Lawrence will be covering Dfam (design for additive manufacturing) and will be showcasing a 3d printed drone as an example. \nRegister Here

SUMMARY:Business Continuity and Contingency Planning
DESCRIPTION:MassMEP’s “Business Continuity and Contingency Planning” is designed for companies who are interested in the assistance of the development\, implementation\, and maintenance of a process to mitigate risk to business due to unforeseen circumstances (i.e. COVID-19). The course will provide a company’s personnel with a) Training towards Risk Management\, b) Establishing methods of risk mitigation with consideration towards personnel\, customers\, the supply chain\, policies and procedures\, and c) Instructions on establishing and implementing a Business Continuity and Contingency Plan. \nEmployers instituting measures of assessing risk and thorough implementation of emergency preparedness and/or business continuity plan can help prevent disruptions to health\, safety\, and the supply chain by being able to answer: \n\nHow will this affect interested parties?\nWhat operations are effected?\nWho has the authority to communicate?\nWhen are the actions taken?\nWhere operations can continue?\n\nWhen an organization proactively plans to avoid and mitigate any risk associated with the disruption of its activities\, the organization is better prepared to handle unforeseen challenges. Though not strictly pertaining to just coronavirus\, a business continuity/contingency plan determines detailed steps to issue guidance on how to move forward by utilizing existing means of control\, training\, and management of operations when the risk has been established. This will assure interested parties (customers\, vendors\, etc.) that your organization is able to remove obstacles and have secondary methods to ensure product or service is uninterrupted. \nThis 16-hour training course is designed for personnel at all levels of the organization. \nTopics include: \n\nRisk Management Overview\nRisk Assessment\nPlanning of Risk Mitigation Activities\nHuman Resources\nVendor Control\nInternal/External Communication Methods\nWork Environment\nSubmission Requirements\n\nRegister Here

SUMMARY:Industry 4.0 Machine Metrics IoT
DESCRIPTION:Industry 4.0 Machine Metrics IoT \nSeptember 30 @ 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm EDT \nMassMEP\, along with partner MachineMetrics invites you to attend an information session about a fully grant-funded collaborative Industry 4.0 training program on the IoT. The Fourth Industrial Revolution is the digital transformation of traditional manufacturing operations to achieve next-level productivity gains. \nIoT initiatives drive significant manufacturing improvement by providing real-time and historical insight into what’s actually happening on the shop floor. In many manufacturing facilities\, although the equipment produces useful data it lacks connection to a data collection or visualization system. The MachineMetrics Industrial IoT Platform provides an easy to implement a solution for connecting to and capturing data from any piece of discrete manufacturing equipment regardless of brand or age. The platform then feeds this data back to the plant and other consumers within the manufacturing lifecycle in ways that drive value and continuous improvement. \nWithin this training\, MachineMetrics will provide our technology platform and training workshops to demonstrate the ability to connect\, collect\, transform\, and analyze data from your shop floor equipment. This training will enable your organization to begin to answer questions such as “What is happening and why?” Training will focus on using the platform\, understanding your machine utilization & capacity\, downtime analysis\, validating job standards\, and escalating data to the right person using automated notifications. \n  \nMachine Metrics Accelerating your factory’s digital transformation with MachineMetrics’ intuitive and flexible Industrial IoT platform. Easily collect data from any piece of manufacturing equipment and transform it into powerful\, actionable applications that reduce machine downtime\, increase your throughput\, and drive profitability. \nRegister Here
