For more information\, please visit ccat.us/NERDIC. \nJoin us for an introductory webinar and technology demonstration where we will showcase the use of Collaborative Robots (Cobots) in Manufacturing to overcome process gaps\, and deliver operational and cost benefits. \nThe technology demonstration will take a deeper dive into using Cobots to streamline component repair\, through the use of a collaborative robot (cobot)\, 3D scanning technology and a grinding system. \nHigh value metal components with long lead times are best candidates for repair and reuse.  Worn surfaces that fall outside the acceptable tolerances for continued component use are among one such repair application. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a virtual presentation on the use and results of generative design and resulting demonstration parts printed by the University of Maine Advanced Manufacturing Center/Center for Additive Manufacturing of Metals. \nValued at a $7.3-billion worldwide market value in 2017\, additive manufacturing (AM) is disrupting multiple markets by enabling engineers to rapidly manufacture parts having substantial geometric freedom. Unfortunately\, this geometric freedom is often realized with materials having insufficient properties (e.g.\, stiffness\, strength\, melting temperature) for production requirements.
