Workforce Development: Pathways to Production

“That Could Work Here!”

“From Interest to Job: How MassMEP is Ensuring a Quality Experience for Partners and Participants”

MassMEP partners with key organizations to train and place nontraditional job seekers in career pathways with small and medium-sized manufacturers across the state. Focusing on essential skills for entry-level positions and practical on-the-job training, the P2P model educates both job seekers and employers to ensure successful matches.

In preparing for the upcoming training to the various underserved populations, we realized the importance of consistency of service practices related to each workforce training program. We looked at optimizing and coordinating resources from our partners to add value to enhance existing programs. Instead of duplicating services, combining efforts, combining resources, and sharing ideas to better serve All involved.

Pathways to Production

MassMEP’s Pathways to Production is an adaptive, competency-based training program encompassing approximately 280 hours of theory, contextualized learning, job readiness, and on-the-job training. Instruction, skills and certifications included in our training are all determined by the current needs of our employers and the industry. Here are the most recent hiring need trends identified through our Workforce Hiring Form:

  • Knowledge about quality management
  • Soft skills development
  • GD&T
  • Shop math

How can you stand out to our trainees?

Engage with us! We would love to visit your facility for a site tour or host you in our classes for a mentor visit. These informal visits are a great recruiting opportunity for you to share a “day in the life” at your facility and answer any company and industry questions our trainees have. When you are ready to engage with us, please contact Matthew or Salena for scheduling.

Cohorts for next year # of trainees

In 2025, MassMEP will run 14 training cohorts with up to 10 trainees in each. That means there will be up to 140 skilled people, trained and ready for hire!
