General Program Grant Funding
Businesses can apply for a general grant up to $125,000 for training programs that must be completed within two years. The hourly training reimbursement rate is $300/hour, with a cap of $3,000/employee. Employers, employer organizations, labor organizations, training providers, and a consortium of such entities are encouraged to apply for funds to train current and newly hired workers. You may use a training provider of your choice. While the majority of training content is funded, courses that a company is legally mandated to provide (such as OSHA training) are not eligible for funding under this program.
Express Program
The Express Grant Program supports businesses that contribute to the Workforce Training Fund, specifically those with 100 or fewer employees. The program provides funding for training at a rate of up to $300 per training hour, with a yearly funding cap of $15,000 per company. The Express Program reimbursement rates are set according to business size:
- Companies with 50 employees or less are eligible for 100% reimbursement.
- Companies with 51-100 employees, may receive 50% reimbursement.
Consortium Grants
An applied learning consortium consists of a small number of companies with common needs who work together to design and deploy a variety of workforce trainings and workshops. Applied learning program options can vary, and the offerings of these programs is pooled from the needs of the Manufacturing Community today. Participants cite networking, best practices, collaboration and much more as some of the benefits of participating in consortium grants.
