MassMEP Employee Highlights – Henry Hall
By Lisa Derby Oden
Meet Henry Hall, a Project Manager at MassMEP. The core of Henry’s job is to work with manufacturing clients to help them improve their operational efficiencies and competitiveness. In short, as a trusted advisor he helps them grow their top line and their bottom line through consulting and training delivery.
Henry’s experience and education position him well to be a trusted advisor. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering and an MBA, he’s also been in manufacturing for over 35 years. Over those years he has worked as an industrial engineer, project manager, quality manager, product development, and technical support. Henry was also a plant manager for a year.
More recently Henry began to look for an opportunity that would be the capstone position for his career. Networking helped him to learn more about MassMEP. Henry states, “I worked with Paul Fortier, MassMEP’s Field Operations Director, 20 years ago and we have kept in touch over those years. He said MassMEP was a good job and a lot of fun. So I decided to apply for the Project Manager position.”
With his background, it probably comes as no surprise that Henry loves solving complex technical problems using six sigma techniques. “It’s great when you hit the AHA moment when you understand the problem and find the solution. It’s also fun to reduce the time from order entry to product shipment by implementing Lean philosophies,” Henry shares.
Outside the office, Henry is a big baseball fan. That includes coaching his kids starting from t-ball up to the Babe Ruth League. Because he hails from New Jersey you can probably guess that, yes, he is a big Yankees fan. Henry closes saying, “I’m going through withdrawal with no baseball because of COVID-19, but remain ever hopeful that the season will start soon.”
How well do you know Henry? Two of these statements are true and one is not. Can you guess which one?
1) I have owned as many as 4 Triumph sports cars at one time.
2) I have made 53 free throws in basketball in a row.
3) I have run a 4:22 mile.
