MassMEP Unveils Workforce Development Team and their Path to the Future.

Meet your Workforce team! Matthew Berard PH.D., CRC is the Associate Director of Workforce Development and Salena DiGaetano is our Workforce Development Program Manager here at MassMEP. We are eager to learn your employment needs and send you MassMEP trainees that would be the perfect fit for an entry-level position at your company.

How can you stand out to our trainees? Engage with us! We would love to visit your facility for a site tour or host you in our classes for a mentor visit. These informal visits are a great recruiting opportunity for you to share a “day in the life” at your facility and answer any company and industry questions our trainees have. When you are ready to engage with us, please contact Matthew or Salena for scheduling.

Our path to the future is a way to discover your next employee through Pathways to Production, a training and placement program tailored for the nontraditional workforce.

MassMEP’s Pathways to Production is an adaptive, competency-based training program encompassing approximately 280 hours of theory, contextualized learning, job readiness, and on-the-job training. Each training cohort has unique parameters, adaptations, and specific requirements that shape the program’s delivery.

MassMEP partners with key organizations to train and place nontraditional job seekers in career pathways with small and medium-sized manufacturers across the state. Focusing on essential skills for entry-level positions and practical on-the-job training, the P2P model educates both job seekers and employers to ensure successful matches.  The skills and certifications that will be delivered include MACWIC (Manufacturing Advancement Center Workforce Innovation Collaborative) 1 (shop math, blueprint reading, metrology, safety, and work readiness), OSHA 10, and forklift training as appropriate.

Our current partners include:

Blackstone Valley Youth Works Program Uniquely Abled Academy

Mass Rehabilitation Commission’s NextGen Program
