A consortium grant provides small to medium size companies an approach to continuous improvement training and manufacturing skills development with minimal cost, time and administrative responsibilities.

MassMEP & the “BIC” Grant Information Session
Berkshire Innovation Center (BIC) 45 Woodlawn Ave, Pittsfield, MA, United StatesMassMEP and Berkshire Innovation Center (BIC) are providing an information session to area manufacturers to learn about MassMEP's method to provide experiential-based training and solution-based support services. Every MassMEP engagement focuses on both the transfer of knowledge and the successful implementation of this learning for immediate impact on the company. In this information session learn about opportunities to apply for grant funded training that may focus around the following:
- Spot Solutions: One time needs such as ISO certifications, inventory systems, sourcing, plant layouts, etc.
- Operational Efficiency: Plant scheduling methods, job methods, etc. to improve quality, on-time delivery and overall profit.
- Employee Training: Everything from lean manufacturing programs to problem solving, leadership training and 5S to empower your workforce.
- Growth and Innovation: Technology-driven market intelligence program, corporate strategic planning, value assessment, marketing and sales systems & project management.
Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Lunch & Learn – Virtual
Manufacturers in the DoD supply chain are required to have adequate information security measures in place to protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Starting in 2020, independent auditors will be assessing manufacturers' security posture, which will determine which contracts they can bid. This session will provide an overview of these requirements and the various options available to ensure compliance with them.

Front Line Supervisor Apprenticeship Training Consortium Info Session
NEW Front Line Supervisor Apprenticeship Training
TRAINING DESCRIPTION: Operational Excellence for Supervisors consists of 3 modules, Leadership Skills, Manufacturing Principles, and Problem Solving. This course is delivered over a 12-month span and is designed to provide both awareness and education through classroom and actual "hands-on” exercises in the work environment with an emphasis on the Scientific Method of problem-solving, team building, and conflict resolution. These are competency-based skills: managers and trainers will evaluate progress and determine the level of competence achieved throughout the apprenticeship period.
- 1-year training program, 3 per class/month
- delivered virtually
- 3 training modules - leadership skills, manufacturing principles, problem-solving
- registered apprenticeship (company will become a "co-sponsor" with MassMEP)
- qualifies for MA Registered Apprentice Tax Credit ($4,800/apprentice)
- funding support available through the Workforce Training Fund
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Supervisors and Work Leaders that responsible for and coordinate the activities of production workers, such as inspectors, machine setters, assemblers, fabricators, and maintenance.

Lever’s 2021 Innovation Summit
ZoomThis is Lever’s second, biennial Innovation Summit. Our first summit, held in Williamstown, Massachusetts in 2019, featured the conclusion of Lever’s 2019 Berkshire Intrapreneur Challenge, presentations from regional innovators, a panel discussion featuring regional innovation centers, and keynote talks by Carlo Zaffanella from General Dynamics, and by Steve Case, founder of America Online.
