Q3 Manufacturing Roundtable: Alternative Workforce Development for Advanced Manufacturing

September 28 @ 8:30 am - 9:30 am

Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce flyee

For Worcester County manufacturers focused on attracting, developing, and retaining skilled workers, apprenticeship programs can offer another approach to workforce development and long-term knowledge transfer.

This quarter’s program will welcome Matthew Allen, Director of Careers and Education at the German American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (GACC), to present on its apprenticeship program, with opening comments from Lucas Rehaag, Executive Director of GACC’s Boston Chapter.

Based on the German “dual education” apprenticeship model, GACC works with companies across the U.S. to develop customized training tools and programs that support workforce retention, capacity building, and long-term knowledge transfer.

Manufacturers will learn how the apprenticeship model works and how structured training can help develop and retain skilled employees.

GACC programs are nationally recognized as Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeships. The organization also serves as a J-1 Exchange Visitor Program sponsor, helping expand the pool of qualified candidates and strengthen pathways into advanced manufacturing careers.
