Technology Demonstration on Augmented Reality for Industry 4.0

This technology demonstration is part of the NERDIC Industry 4.0 Readiness Ecosystem program for the New England defense supply chain. For more information, please visit ccat.us/NERDIC. Join us for a virtual presentation on the results of the demonstration pilot conducted by SphereGen/The Impact Group on the use and implementation of augmented reality in manufacturing. Augmented Reality is the overlaying of digital content into the physical environment. Specifically, to manufacturing, this can include any type of virtual parts, data, photos, videos, and work instructions. These assets can be transposed on to a machine in the real world for easier training and troubleshooting through a device such as a phone or headset. Our engagement with CCAT is specific to HoloLens 2 which is an advanced augmented reality headset created by Microsoft. HoloLens 2 has comprehensive voice recognition, gesture recognition and is a hands-free heads-up display. [mep_register url="https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/5571284106019630091"]

Technology Demonstration on Machine Tool Probing for Industry 4.0

This technology demonstration is part of the NERDIC Industry 4.0 Readiness Ecosystem program for the New England defense supply chain. For more information, please visit ccat.us/NERDIC. Join us for a virtual presentation on the use and results of automated probing for CNC machining of a demonstration part. Probing is an established best practice for maximizing the efficiency, quality, capability, and accuracy of machine tools. Standard routines built into modern CNC controls simplify the integration of probing cycles into machining operations and offline tools. These routines, combined with a CAD interface, make the simulation of measurement functions easy. On machine probe solutions can help reduce set_up times by up to 90% and improve your process control. This technology provides solutions for tool setting, broken tool detection, component set-up, in-cycle gauging and first-off component inspection, with automatic offset updates. On machine probing can deliver significant cost savings, and improvements in quality, for all applications using machine tools throughout many industries. NERDIC Industry 4.0 Readiness Ecosystem: Introduction to 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing to Assist Traditional Manufacturing

This introductory workshop is part of the NERDIC Industry 4.0 Readiness Ecosystem program for small manufacturing enterprises in the defense supply chain. For more information, please visit ccat.us/NERDIC.
3D Printing (or Additive Manufacturing) is a powerful tool available to manufacturers. Some companies are adopting the technology to produce end-use parts, but even if your customers are not sending you RFQ’s for additively made parts, most companies can adopt additive to create tools, fixtures, prototypes and other aids to assist traditional manufacturing processes. Some types of AM can also be used as a powerful repair and part modification tool shortening lead times on critical repairs and replacement parts. Learning Objectives By the conclusion of the presentation, attendees will: ¥ Understand what AM is, and the materials and equipment used ¥ Case studies of companies using AM to aid or supplement their traditional manufacturing processes ¥ Next steps in learning more about using AM in your company
[mep_register url="https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/8807511864360582668"]
