AUBURN, MA — August 27, 2026— MassMEP, the Massachusetts Manufacturing Extension Partnership, announces the appointment of Peter Letendre of Cartamundi and Julie Diop of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to its Board of Directors.
Peter Letendre, Director, North America ELM Operations, Cartamundi C&BG
Peter Letendre serves as Director of North America ELM Operations for Cartamundi’s Commercial & Board Games division at the company’s East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, manufacturing facility. He has more than 30 years of leadership experience across the aerospace, defense, HVAC, plastics, medical device, industrial, and consumer products industries, with a focus on operational excellence, continuous improvement, workforce development, and strategic capital investment. Letendre is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve. He holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Idaho and a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Boston University.
Julie Diop, Executive Director, MIT Initiative for New Manufacturing
Julie Diop is Executive Director of MIT’s Initiative for New Manufacturing (INM), where her work focuses on manufacturing education and workforce development. Since joining MIT in 2016, she has helped develop training programs for technicians and engineers and has worked with federal and state agencies, nonprofit organizations, community colleges, and universities. Diop previously led MIT manufacturing initiatives connected to education and workforce development, including work with AIM Photonics, a Manufacturing USA institute. She holds degrees from Oberlin College, the University of Chicago, and New York University.

The addition of Letendre and Diop to the Board brings industry and academic experience to MassMEP as it continues its work supporting manufacturers across Massachusetts.
